The Animal Husbandry Department of the Faculty of Animal Science at Halu Oleo University Holds RPS Workshop Based on Case Method and Project Learning.

Kendari, November 8, 2023 – The Animal Husbandry Department of Halu Oleo University (UHO) organized a workshop focused on developing Semester Learning Plans (RPS) through the integration of innovative learning methods, specifically the Case Method and Project Learning. The objective of this workshop was to enhance the quality of education and teaching within the Animal Husbandry Department.

The primary facilitator for this event was Dr. La Ode Santiaji Bande, S.P., M.P., who serves as the Chair of the Education Quality Assurance and Education Development Institute (LPPMP) at Halu Oleo University. Dr. La Ode Santiaji Bande, an education expert, has made significant contributions to elevating the educational standards at UHO.

The workshop attracted numerous lecturers from the UHO Animal Husbandry Department, all displaying great enthusiasm for adopting novel learning methodologies. Throughout the workshop, participants delved into the fundamental concepts and principles of the Case Method and Project Learning. They also gained insights into how to seamlessly integrate these approaches into their RPS. The Case Method encourages students to tackle real-world problems through case studies, while Project Learning engages students in research-based projects.

In addition to conceptual discussions, participants were actively involved in collaboratively designing RPS aligned with the department’s curriculum. This collaborative effort aims to empower them to introduce innovative learning methods into the subjects they teach.

Dr. La Ode Santiaji Bande, S.P., M.P., emphasized in his speech, “Innovative learning methods like the Case Method and Project Learning are pivotal in elevating the quality of education. Through the incorporation of these methods into RPS, we can better equip students to confront real-world challenges.”

The organizers anticipate that this workshop will yield significant benefits in the ongoing endeavor to enhance the quality of education in the UHO Animal Husbandry Department. By embracing innovative learning methods, it is expected that students will emerge better prepared and competent as they transition into the professional world upon graduation.
